Borås
During our time in Sweden, we passed one study week at the University of Borås, called Högskolan i Borås in swedish. The University seemed to me modern and well equipped with digital technology.
The HB has appr. 11,000 students and 750 employees. During our study week, we were accompagnied by two lecturers, Tobias Ruthenberg (specialised in ICT tools) and Richard Baldwin (specialised in English as a FL).
Borås is a small and beautiful town with a population of appr. 72,000 in Västra Götalands Län in Western Sweden. It is about 1h from Gothenburg.
Borås is famous for its textile industry (H&M, textile museum) as well as for the largest technical research institute of Sweden.
While our study week in Boras, we were given the possibility to get to know a local school. As a teacher education student it's inspiring to have a look not only at the own national education system, but also at those of other countries.
It was interesting to see, that every pupil worked on a tablet during school lessons. The school was digitally well equipped.
However I don'nt know if this was a typical swedish school, because Sangärdskolan is a private school. It would have been nice to see also a public one.
Vi bidrar till innovation i hela samhället!
